Seven ways to tell if your
baby isn't eating right.
1. Your baby has less than six wet diapers per day or fewer than three stools per day.
2. Your milk is in, but your baby does not gulp or swallow frequently during breastfeeding.
3. Your nipples are painful during the feedings.
4. Your baby is hungry all the time.
5. You don't feel your milk volume has increased.
6. Your baby is gaining less than 1/2 an ounce per day, after four days of age.
7. Your baby has not regained his birth weight by two weeks of age.
